The 3D scanner
Equipment
- Cone-beam CT scanner
A 3D image of the teeth, bone and sinuses, taken in the office. We use it to plan implants, locate hidden root canals, check wisdom teeth against the nerve and measure bone before a graft.
- Intraoral scanner
A small camera that records the teeth for night guards, athletic mouthguards, Invisalign and retainers, instead of impression trays. For crowns and bridges we still take a conventional impression, which in our hands gives the more accurate fit.
- Digital X-rays
Low-dose images that appear on the screen in seconds. We take them only as often as your situation calls for, about once a year for most people.
