Vizcaya Dental Arts is run by two doctors, a cosmetic, restorative and implant dentist and a board-certified orthodontist, with a small team around them. The building, the equipment and directions are on the our office page.

Dr. Kottar graduated at the top of his class at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, then completed a hospital residency and an advanced program at Boston University focused on full-mouth rehabilitation. He places and restores implants himself, and his work ranges from a single filling to full-mouth rehabilitation. His starting point with any problem is whether the tooth can be kept.

Dr. Hong earned her dental degree at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and completed her orthodontic specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania. She treats children, teens and adults with Invisalign and braces. Her emphasis is on getting the diagnosis right: a first evaluation at six or seven usually means watching growth, not braces.
Dr. Kottar and Dr. Hong are husband and wife, and they practice side by side. When a smile needs both alignment and restoration, the two doctors plan it together as one case, in one office.
Our team
Our patient and insurance coordinator greets you, checks your benefits and goes through your estimate before anything is scheduled. Clinical assistants and a hygienist work alongside the doctors. The office works in English and Spanish; Dr. Kottar also consults in Italian and Dr. Hong in Mandarin.

From the moment I called the office to schedule I could tell this place was different. The person who answered, named laydi was above and beyond kind and friendly, a great first impression.
When I got to the office I was promptly taken inside and waited less than a minute. I was assuming I’d start the cleaning but instead the dentist / owner Dr kottar came to meet me and introduce himself. Not only that, but he sat and listened to my concerns, and made sure I felt heard. Then he did the comprehensive exam (100% covered by insurance), and then reviewed everything with me and answered every question I had after the cleaning. No upsells, just great care and knowledge. He also did a mouth cancer check and measured my gums tooth by tooth, something That no other dentist had ever taken the time to do. He even showed me how to floss. In other dental offices, the dentist would come in for a minute or two after I got a Cleaning but at this office, the doctor is a part of the whole treatment plan. If you want to find a local dentist who knows your kids names, knows about you, cares about your health and doesn’t nickel and dime you, I HIGHLY recommend viscaya dental arts. He genuinely just wants to make his patients feel seen, and have great dental health.

How we practice
We recommend only the treatment you need, and we say so when a problem can safely be watched.
The examination and the explanation come from the doctor, and your questions get answered.
Local anesthesia is given slowly, with a numbing gel first. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are available for anyone who wants them.
Appointments are scheduled with enough time that nobody is rushed.
